On the 12th of May we hosted our first WebinarWednesday of 2021 titled “Zero Food Waste” with our guest speaker Vasuki Iyenger, Soil and Health. 

The session was hosted by Jacob Cherian, with Chiku Agarwal as the chat manager from Team

The aim of the 1-hour session was to share the panelist’s knowledge on how we segregate waste and use it as a fertiliser for our own benefit. The session was also accompanied with a live Do-it-Yourself composting demo.

The session was attended by 58 audience members. You can view the recorded session on our Youtube channel and Slides. 

Some of the questions from the audience are as follows:-

Q) Can you please say a few microbial alternatives that are available from households?
– Diluted source curd, cow dung slurry, activated effective microorganism solution, activated waste recomposed liquid.

Q) Which is the most efficient composting process for larger communities?

  • the solution depends on space available, not just physical space, space available in residents’ hearts and minds for composting. 

Q) How can we reduce small germs or insects in composting and gardening if they are damaging our yields?

During the session we also choose 4 lucky audience members for the EcoBricks and Grow, to support the waste segregation initiative and live a Sustainable life, one of our organisation’s visions.
