On the 12th of May we hosted our first WebinarWednesday of 2021 titled “Zero Food Waste” with our guest speaker Vasuki Iyenger, Soil and Health.
The session was hosted by Jacob Cherian, with Chiku Agarwal as the chat manager from Team Jhatkaa.org.
The aim of the 1-hour session was to share the panelist’s knowledge on how we segregate waste and use it as a fertiliser for our own benefit. The session was also accompanied with a live Do-it-Yourself composting demo.
The session was attended by 58 audience members. You can view the recorded session on our Youtube channel and Slides.
Some of the questions from the audience are as follows:-

– Diluted source curd, cow dung slurry, activated effective microorganism solution, activated waste recomposed liquid.
Q) Which is the most efficient composting process for larger communities?
- the solution depends on space available, not just physical space, space available in residents’ hearts and minds for composting.
