Planting 750 saplings
On 31st July 2021, Jhatkaa.org along with Biotasoil Foundation and HSR Rotary Club commenced our first collaborative planting drive at Kommasandra. While the total planting drive will cover many 1000s of saplings across 11 acres, this collaborative drive aims to plant 2000 saplings to commemorate the lives of people we lost due to Covid-19. Furthermore, this will also contribute to the Garden City as it will add significant cover.
In the first phase, we were able to plant 750 saplings with the help of our members and volunteers, some of whom have also donated to the project. On that day there were 10 volunteers who took part in the planting drive, following all the Covid-19 guidelines.
As per the latest IPCC report, we have to act now, and move quickly, to fight climate change. Planting trees is one of the ways that will help us create a sustainable future. Support the initiative by planting trees.
How can you support the cause? You can support us by donating at least tree or join us to plant these trees. Each tree is taken care of for a period of three years with the help of your contribution.
Would you like to donate one tree? Click here. This will also help the Garden City to retain its climate by absorbing the Carbon release.
