How to Strengthen the Environment around You
On the 1st of July, 2020 we launched a new series of WebinarWednesdays titled “Local Ecology & You” with our guest speakers Dr. Abdul Ghani founder of The Tree Ambulance, Chennai and Varun Ravindra of Vanantara, Bangalore.
The session was hosted by Jacob Cherian, with Divya Narayan as the chat manager. The slides were handled by Chiku Agarwal. The aim of the 1-hour session was to share the panelists’ knowledge with the audience on how anyone can help safeguard the trees in their neighbourhood and to strengthen local ecology by planting the right trees..

I’m an architecture student. I want to know how far from a tree does one build a structure to avoid hurting its branches or roots in future. How far away from a forest can we build a structure?
This was the first interactive session on tree plantation and protection initiative which helped the audience to get knowledge on:
- The types of species that can be grown which will help them to maintain ecology.
Illegal cutting should be reported to nearby police stations or municipality bodies.
Community tree plantation can be done to safeguard nature.
