October Update: Kommasandra

On 3rd Oct 2021, Biota Soil Foundation and teams went over for an inspection and maintenance visit of the planting site. We de-weeded, added bio-nutrients and added mulch around the base of the saplings.

We are happy to say that the saplings are healthy and growing well. The drip irrigation system is deployed and will be useful once the dry seasons set in.

Arvind Srivatsav told us about the benefits and challenges of running a large planting site here in Kommasandra, working with local villagers, officials and the forest department. The Biota Soil team has successfully created local employment with the villagers who are the primary stakeholders in a project like this.
